My resignation email :/ I have never sent an employer such an email, but I am very hurt. This job was one of the best I have had, yet my manager managed to s the spirit out of me and I grew to hate it with a passion. I was a housekeeper mainly, and often wasn't provided

employees, myself included had spoken to her in person about the cleaning supplies and the bedbug issue and nothing changed. Our best employees quit over a month ago due to her poor management as well. She wants robots, but we are people. I started another job where I won't have to worry about this anymore.

Good morning, I hope this email finds you well. I have removed teams, and I have decided that I will not do a 2 week notice. I am ready to leave, and have been for a while. I loved my job and I took great pride in it from the beginning. Over time, I lost my motivation, and I dreaded every day knowing I had to clock in. This was due to a couple things, and I feel I at least owe it to you to tell you what they were.

You are a micromanager. You feel the need to be involved in every little thing that is happening. That is to be expected of a manager- to an extent. I'm sorry to say this, but I eventually became anxious at work and would go out of my way to avoid you because I didn't want to be hounded about the work I've done so far, what I am doing now, and what I'll be doing after.

I hated having to sneak and conversate with coworkers so you wouldn't see and go out of your way to ask us to do opposite things so we couldn't talk. We were still working. Not being able to talk makes for a very lonely workplace, and we don't do work that requires us to be silent. Really, work became so depressing because while there were people everywhere, I was totally by myself for no apparent reason.

You don't allow people to give input on new ideas, which is why I feel the frequent staff meetings are a waste of time. It's just a free lunch and upper management making it seem like they care what employees have to say, but all that matters is what THEY have to say. I don't feel the need to give examples on every single thing, so I will move onto my next reason in an attempt to keep this as short as possible.

I don't feel like you value the housekeepers at all. We get donations, yet we don't have cleaning supplies. Constantly out of gloves (because only 2 pairs are purchased), clorox wipes, and floor solution. Families cannot stay in the rooms if they are not clean and it is not okay to expect the housekeepers to handle strong cleaning chemicals with our bare hands. Food handler gloves are not sufficient as they were not made for housekeeping. That has never seemed to be a big concern to you, and if

the chemicals with bare hands? They say on the bottle that they should not be in contact with the skin. Also, the toilet. I found it a bit disrespectful to think anyone would bend down and scrub a dirty toilet (sometimes an absolute biohazard, filled to the brim with human waste) with no protection. There have been multiple times where I considered just clocking out and heading home once I realized that there were no gloves. Again. We work in a building full of sick children and we go above and

That is it. As with most jobs, management can make or break it. My job was broken. I am very hurt by it, as this was a great job for me. I no longer need to stay here and work a job that doesn't value the hard work I once put in. I hope that you can find a new housekeeper, maybe two, that are willing to do everything that you want. It unfortunately cannot be me.

ricksebak 23h ago I wouldn't send an email like this. I would just do "this email serves as my resignation, my last day will be X, thank you." A big complaint letter might feel good to type but it won't help change anything.

As for the glove thing, what you described sounds like they might be breaking this OSHA regulation. So if you want to do some typing that will feel good and will help change that situation, file an OSHA complaint on their
